Slattery Tackett Architects, LLP was formed in 2007 as a continuation of a firm started in 1978 by Gerald Tackett. David Slattery and Gerald Tackett worked as a team for nearly 20 years, earning Slattery Tackett a reputation of excellence and integrity.
Today, David Slattery and his team continue to build a legacy of integrity by honoring the importance of client relationships and delivering innovative design solutions. The firm has built a portfolio of commercial, religious, and municipal projects that span a wide range of styles, sizes, and budgets.

David Slattery, AIA
Principal, Managing Partner
David J. Slattery graduated from the University of Houston in 1984 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. David’s background in architecture, construction, and design/build firms has given him experience in the design and construction of many types of commercial projects, including public entertainment, healthcare, worship, and emergency services facilities. His passion for tackling tough projects and ability to help client effectively communicate their wants, needs and goals for a project make him a valuable asset to design and construction teams.

MELANIE STARMAN BASH, AIA
Project Architect
Melanie Bash is a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. As a member of both the AIA and the Texas Society of Architects, her background in commercial architecture provides the right experience needed to lead some of Slattery Tackett’s larger commercial and religious design projects. When she’s not drawing or on a site visit, Melanie is very involved in her local school district and the National Charity League.

TROY GRANT
Design Professional
Troy Grant is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a 2016 graduate of the University of Texas with a Master of Architecture. Starting with Slattery Tackett in 2015, Troy has worked in production and design for many of STA’s fire stations and EMS facilities, religious facilities, and other commercial projects.

Tetiana Sapurko
Design Professional
Tetiana joined STA upon her arrival to the US from her home country of Ukraine, where she was an award-winning architect and founder of her own design firm. She has a Master of Architecture of Building and Construction degree from Donbas National Academy and is our resident expert on all things technology and our go-to for design renderings and models. Tetiana is the founder and moderator of a social media group for Ukrainian refugees, and she enjoys traveling and exploring her new home.
ADRIANA BAILEY-ROMERO
Design Professional
Adriana holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy, as well as a degree in economics from the Monterrey Institute of Technology. She has lived in Mexico, Italy, and several states throughout the US, and values the rich diversity she has experienced in her travels. She is an active member of her church and is passionate about learning, from architecture to politics and neurology.
LAUREN HUTTON
Design Professional
Lauren graduated from Texas A&M University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design and will pursue a Master of Architecture at the University of Houston starting in the fall of 2024. In her internships, she has enjoyed working on several luxury residences, office renovations, worship centers, fire stations, and other commercial projects. Outside of the studio, Lauren enjoys gardening with her new hydroponics system and hopes to one day build a lush backyard retreat where she will grow her own veggies.
Lisa Slattery
Business Manager
Lisa joined the STA team in 2023 upon her retirement from teaching high school business classes. She has a Business Management degree from Texas A&M. Outside the office, she can be found playing with her grandbabies and using her voice to continue to support public education.
